A Lamli x y/n (Aruji-sama) I wrote on X
I’ll translate it and post it here too :)
(A/n: this is a fan fiction that I wrote! Aka it’s not official. I wrote this in Japanese first, so it might read a little weird sometimes.)
(Slight spoiler warning for event stories “Shiro no Suuhai” 白の崇拝 (White Worship) and “Butler's Wedding Party”)
(tw: might be a little gruesome) (Aruji-sama is they/them)
(I got the idea for this short story from a friend on X!❤️)
Enjoy!
***
.
.
.
I was out with Lamli in Espoir when, out of the blue, Seraphim appeared.
“Oh? Out to town on this lovely day, are we?”
Lamli reacted immediately and jumped out in front of me. “Geh, an Intellectual Angel. What’re you doing here?”
“Well, I thought I’d take a few enhanced angels out for a stroll. You know, for another test run.
“!! Aruji-sama! Please stay close to me!”
As I stood in shock, the loud alarm rang to signal the angels’ arrival. Lamli and I had snuck out of the mansion today to buy mixed nuts for Lucas that might go well with his wine. “Annoying Nac,” as Lamli called him, had also been planning on going to the Grovaner House today, so Lamli had been able to sneak off easily to come to town with me.
Which meant that we were completely by ourselves.
“Aruji-sama! Please stay back where it’s safe!”
Lamli began fighting off the enhanced angels, waiting for backup as he protected the town with his superhuman athleticism.
Seraphim watched him languidly as if spectating a show when a few other butlers arrived, responding to the alarm. Haures, Bastien, Lato, Shiro, Bellen, and Berrien. All butlers who were top tier in combat.
They’ll be able to beat the angels… right?
I opened the prayer book and said the usual phrase. “Come forth, dark ally. I summon you. By this contract with the devil, unleash the power of the butlers here. .....”
.........
(A few days ago)
“Nac! You were writing Lucas-sama letters all this time!? Yuck, so annoying.”
“Lamli, what is with your expression. I merely write Lucas-san notes to relay necessary information.”
“Hmph! Really? Lucas-sama~! If I wrote you a letter, would you read it?”
“Of course♪ I wonder what kind of letter you'll write me, Lamli-kun♪”
“It’ll most likely be something along the lines of what kind of frog he’d caught that day. As if he’s writing a diary entry.”
“No, it won’t! What do you take me for? I’d write about all the things I like and admire about Lucas-sama! I hope you’ll look forward to it, Lucas-sama! Oh! Maybe I’ll write Aruji-sama a letter too! I wonder if they’ll like it~”
“That’s a great idea. You’re really thoughtful about Aruji-sama, Lamli-kun♪”
Nac sighed and gave a hopeless smile. “If only you’d take your job to clean the mansion as seriously.”
.........
We were almost there. We could just almost beat them, but the enhanced angels were strong.
Ughhh, I hate angels. As much as I wanted to get this over with, I continued to protect Aruji-sama. Hearing all of the commotion, all of the other butlers had joined in on the fight, too. But, these enhanced angels were really a pain in the butt.
Just then, I saved a crying child who had tripped and fallen on the ground. But, I’d made a mistake.
“Lamli!!!!”
It was Aruji-sama’s voice.
An angel sped toward me in the blink of an eye.
“Ah!”
The angel released a blinding light. As I realized what was to come, I dropped the sickle sword in my left hand.
The letter I was going to give Aruji-sama was in my pocket. The letter I’d written for Aruji-sama…
I held it tightly in my hand, and, taking the sword in my other hand, I cut off my left hand at the wrist. Then, throwing the dismembered fist far away from myself, I prayed that it would reach them.
Would they think my amputated hand is gross? Would Aruji-sama not like me anymore? The thought crossed my mind.
“Aruji-sama! I love you!!”
I wanted to give Aruji-sama, the person I love, one last smile. I lifted the corners of my mouth to give them one of my usual bright smiles, and I looked at them. Not at the angel that was trying to erase me from existence.
I was so happy to be able to spend my days with you.
I hoped they would understand. This feeling that had my heart bursting with love and adoration.
.
I screamed his name until my voice was hoarse. Afterward, Lucas defeated the enhanced angel that had taken him. I picked up the hand that Lamli had thrown —Lamli’s hand— and held it until the warmth gradually disappeared.
By the time the fighting was over, a second Intellectual Angel came to us. An all too familiar face.
“What are you doing Seraphim? Hurry and put an end to all this.” Cherubim looked at me as he spoke to Seraphim. “You finally defeated one of the Devil Butlers… You should take care of their lord now while the other Devil Butlers are weakened.”
“Hmmm give me a second, Cherubim. You, Lord of the Devil Butlers.”
“Huh…?” Seraphim said something to me, but I couldn’t wrap my head around his words. How could I in this situation?
“Tell me… Do you know why that Devil Butler cut off his own hand to preserve it?”
All I could do is stare back, still in shock of what had happened. What did he ask me? How could you ask something like that? It made me realize again that angels were incapable of understanding human emotions.
“The reason why Lamli cut off his hand…”
It probably wasn’t just so that he could give me one last letter. He did it so that I could hold his hand just a little bit longer. Before he could be completely erased from this world by the angels light without a trace of him left behind. He wanted to leave a part of him with me. Literally. So that I could hold his hand, touch his skin, and grasp onto him a little bit longer. An unspoken promise that he’ll be with me forever. For that reason, he cut off his hand…
Lamli’s hand. His last gift to me.
I couldn’t imagine how painful it was to cut it off.
Seraphim waited leisurely for my answer, like he was having fun rubbing salt in my fresh wounds, while Cherubim looked like he was only waiting out of curiosity.
“I think Lamli wanted to leave something… to leave a part of him behind…?”
In the Central Land, depending on the region, some people cremated their loved ones to ashes when they passed. However, generally, embalming was the popular practice to bury their deceased. I remembered the time I’d told him once about the culture in my world, where some people used cremation but kept the bones in their shape to place in an urn and bury in a grave. "Oh, I see! So, it’s tradition to bury the bones of your loved ones… Hmm… I think I’ve heard of that before. That might be similar to what they do in the Eastern Land,” he had said.
“To… leave behind his bones… for a proper burial.”
“Hmmm I see. Sounds like a unique thing humans would do.” Seraphim laughed. "Well then, since you answered my question, I’ll let you go for today. Besides, it won’t be long until we angels defeat you for good.”
“Humans are so interesting. To think of going through the trouble of leaving behind your bones… There’s always something new to learn about them,” Cherubim mumbled, and the two returned to the sky.
.
《To the Aruji-sama I love!
Were you surprised?? I wanted to write a letter for kind and wonderful Aruji-sama who’s always nice to me!
Isn’t it kinda exciting to get a letter on just a regular day?!
Well, at least that’s what Rose-kun (Ammon) said, so I bet the surprise was a big success!
Aruji-sama!! Let’s watch the stars again together, and go on outings like today, too! I’ll always think of ways to have a blast, and I’ll make sure to put a smile on your face! ☆
☆☆Lamli☆☆ 》
.........
〔If I were to die like this, Would you shed tears for me or would you come with me?〕 (Lyrics from Shirayume, theme song of Akuneko)
I’d thought of those words once or twice.
As Ammon placed flowers on Lamli’s new grave, the other butlers silently said a prayer. Here lies Lamli. Without a doubt, a part of him rests in piece here.
He was still by our side. Not completely erased from this world. A part of him is still on this earth.
Finlay-sama came by the Devil’s Palace to pay his respects to the fallen Devil Butler, too. He spoke to Lucas, Nac, and me before leaving shortly to go back to the Grovaner Estate. I had a feeling he only came because Finlay was friendly with Lucas and Nac for being the negotiators for the Devil Butlers, and Lamli had been their roommate on the third floor.
The first request from the nobles that we went on together had been to the Southern Land. On the way there, we’d laid on the desert sand and watched the stars together when we were first starting to get to know each other.
You often prepared parasols for me to protect me from the harsh sun rays; the rays that made your body weak, too. We went on walks together, with you protecting both of us from the sun.
And in preparation for the wedding party, you and Lucas did my nails and gave me a hand massage. I remember how your hands felt against mine, as you rubbed the tension in my hand away with aromatic oil.
And I also remember how your cold hand felt in my hands just yesterday.
Flower viewing season, Tanabata, Christmas, New Years, the anniversary of when I first came to Devil’s Palace… All of them memories that I made with you.
I flipped through the diary that you wrote in for me.
Bastien said once, “When people are forgotten, that’s when they truly die.”
“I guess Lamli’s not here anymore to call me Megane-kun…” Fennesz murmured softly.
“O-oh! Um, I apologize, Aruji-sama! I said something I shouldn’t have again…
“Then,…. Can I call you Megane-kun from time to time?”
“Huh?” Fennesz looked surprised for a moment, but he soon nodded. “If it’s no trouble, yes. Please do so. …You’re right. Then, we won’t ever forget Lamli.”
From then on, I sometimes used the nicknames Lamli affectionately used to use for everyone. Lucas was the one who was the hesitant at first. He had preferred when Lamli didn’t use the “-sama” suffix for him, and now that I was calling him “Lucas-sama” sometimes, Lucas wasn’t very sure it’d be good.
“But, I hold respect for you, too. Can’t I call you that just sometimes…?”
He eventually agreed and showed me a kind but sad smile. I had a feeling he understood that this was my way of grieving for my Devil Butler.
By thinking of Lamli, he would always live on in our hearts.
Marucchi. (Hanamaru)
Kuma-san. (Teddy)
Shiro Shiro.
Bos. (Boschi)
Ribbon-kun. (Flure)
Kitsune-kun. (Bastien)
Rose-kun. (Ammon)
Gohan-kun. (Lono)
Megane-kun. (Fennesz)
Hau-san. (Haures)
Lato-cchi.
Yuu-chan.
Buu-chan. (Muu)
.
The following December, we said our prayers for him at the yearly memorial service.
I visited his grave, too.
Lamli’s happy and energetic voice would never resound in the mansion’s halls anymore. But, I climbed up to the viewing deck almost every night. I’d look for the “Aruji-sama Constellation” and the “Lucas-sama Constellation” that Lamli had made for us. Sometimes, Lucas would join me for a drink under the stars. And, when the night was getting late, Nac would come by during his usual rounds and escort me back to my room.
I hope Lamli will be the brightest, most loved star in every night sky to come. That was my wish upon a star…

[AKNK] Butler in Wonderland / Chapter 11 - I Don't Want You to Leave!
Prev | All
Tumblr media
Haures: "Lato... Where have you been?"
Lucas: "I don't think I've seen you for a long time…"
Lato: "Yes, sir. After I saw the Lord off in the hallway… I was looking for Mr. Fennesz all this time."
Fennesz: "Eh… Me?"
Lato: "Yes, that's right. Actually, at that time, I picked up something in the hallway...  I remembered that Mr. Fennesz had fallen down in the hallway… and I thought maybe he dropped it then."
> "No way, that something is...?"
Fennesz: "Could it be… the red diamond jewel...?
Lato: "I don't know if it's a diamond or not, but… I can see that it was a really beautiful stone. Here you go. Don't drop such a beautiful thing, okay?"
What Lato handed to Fennesz... was definitely the 'Red Diamond'.
Fennesz: "I knew it... I must have dropped it that time.  Th-thank goodness… It was found unscathed…"
Lato: "Oh...? Mr. Fennesz, you seem to be a bit teary-eyed...  Was the stone that important?"
Lamli: "Hey, Lato-chi.  Let me ask you something... Do you know what kinda stone this jewel is?"
Lato: "What kind of stone…? I'm not sure… I like beautiful things, but I'm not a gemstone expert. Oh... But didn't they say that it's a 'diamond' earlier?"
Lamli: "...Just as I thought, he didn't seem to know anything about it."
Nac: "Come to think of it, he also said that he wasn't familiar with the original novel… I guess he didn't know that it was an important key to remove the ring."
Fennesz: "Ugh… And yet, I...  I said, 'I wonder if Lato has it hidden...' How could I have doubted my own companion... What a bad person I am…"
Hanamaru: "W-well, well… Fennesz. Everyone makes mistakes…"
Yuhan: "Mr. Hanamaru also doubted him."
Hanamaru: "Yes… I'm sorry."
Lato: "Hmm~… One minute I'm happy to return the stone, and the next I feel down… I don't know what is going on."
> "Actually, this stone is…"
I explained the purpose of the jewel to Lato.
Lato: "I see... So that's what it means. Without the jewel, the Lord cannot return to their world.  Mr. Fennesz. May I have a word?"
Fennesz: "Hmm? What is it?
Lato: "That red stone... Please give it back to me."
Fennesz: "What… W-why?
Lato: "Because... If you have that jewel, the Lord will leave, right? Then I'd rather keep it. Please give it back."
Fennesz: "N-no, no! That's not how it works."
Hanamaru: "Look at that! This is the kinda guy Lato is."
Yuhan: "I-I'm sure that he was joking…"
Lucas: "...I think he's mostly serious about it, though…"
Haures: "Yeah... He is like the real Cheshire Cat.  He kept playing around with us until the very end…"
At any rate... Now that the red jewel is back in my possession, the ring was safely unlocked....  I was now able to return to my world anytime.
[A short while later]
Flure: "I see… So he ended up finding the jewel... no, I mean...  I'm glad you found it, my Lord!"
Ammon: "Hehe. Your true feelings are leaking out, Flure."
Miyaji: "Well... I can understand how Flure feels. With that, I guess this is the end of this recreation....
Berrien: "My Lord, I hope you enjoyed this Halloween event."
> "I really enjoyed it" > "We had a great time"
Berrien: "I see ♪ I am glad to hear you say so."
Teddy: "Me too! It was so much fun to have a tea party with the Lord!"
Lono: "While wondering if it'll make the Lord happy… I guess I had a lot of fun from the very beginning of the preparation~"
Ammon: "For sure. Preparing the garden, making the set... We put in lots of effort for the Lord. Right, Mr. Boschi ♪?"
Boschi: ".......Why are you passing it on to me there? But well… I think I did a good job this time."
Bastien: "Halloween itself is still going on... I guess this is goodbye to the Lord for today. ….I'll miss them."
Muu: "Yes… me too..."
> "Everyone…"
I can take off the golden ring, and return to my original world anytime. Even so, looking at the expressions of everyone gathered here… I started to feel reluctant about leaving, too.
> "I think I'll stay here for a little longer."
Haures: "Huh… My Lord? Then... will you still be here with us?
> "Since I can return anytime"
Lamli: "Yay~! I love you my Lord ♪ Fufu… Master Lucas. You were right about the 'everyone makes a lonely face at the end' strategy!"
> "What... strategy?"
Lucas: "Oops. Please don't worry about it."
Nac: "Yes. Because we really will miss you ♪"
Hanamaru: "Yeah, yeah. So don't say, 'I'm going home after all.'  If you say, 'I'm going home' now... I might die from loneliness."
Teddy: "Ahaha! Mr. Hanamaru, you sound like a rabbit."
Lamli: "Maru-chi is playing the Caterpillar role, though~"
Nac: "It's Butterfly."
Muu: "Fufu… I would rather be a butler than a king!"
The moment I declared that 'I'm staying'... The butlers' faces light up all at once. Seeing their smiles, I realize how much I'm cherished by them.  That was the most delightful gift I could receive.
*Close-up* Berrien: "Fufu… Well, my Lord. What kind of recreation shall we do next?
~ End ~
note: I don't know how well-known it is, but rabbits can in fact die from loneliness. ****Sorry for the misinfo, please forget what was written here. I just did a cross-check

This is the Part 2 of this fic <3
I'm so happy some people liked it :D
TW: Probably OOC characters, OC (not exactly, it's just Aruji-sama), small spoilers of episodes other than episode 1
Life as an Angel from Akuneko - Part 2
You stood outside the cabin with your fist on your hips.
Yeah, you just stood there awkwardly.
Everything's been pretty overwhelming you know? Devil butlers are after your ass (a metaphor btw) and the angels probably already know about your betrayal.
Damn, such a nice way to start a new life in another world, no?
Using the wings on your back, you flutter up to stand on the cabin's roof. The ceiling creaks slightly under your weight but shows no sign of collapsing.
Thank god...
You stare into the distance from on top of the roof.
"Oh hey... isn't that Devil's Palace?"
Indeed it is. Standing in its glory, the Devil's Palace, a.k.a. the abode of the 13 (or 16? You don't know what part of the story it is now) butlers, a cat butler, and a normal human being, stood proudly amongst the tall trees of the forest.
"That does remind me though, the story..." You closed your eyes and scratched your head. "I mean, I know Haures is alive. That means Fennesz and the older butlers are alive too. And... that only squeezes the possibilities to half of the whole timeline..."
God fucking damn it
Running a hand through your really short hair, you sighed once again and scanned the world below you.
But then, at the corner of your eye, you see a bush rustling. Is it Tristia? Or her friend?? Tristia should be in the cabin sleeping right now... and there's no barn or civilization nearby. And from your knowledge, Devil's Palace didn't have a barn either. It wasn't windy too.
You descend from the roof and land on the ground. Cautiously, you approach the bush.
You puff up your wings to get ready to fly off. The thing in the bush gasped.
Huh?
It gasped??
You lunged forward to capture the thing in the bush. It was small. It was fluffy... and it had beautiful wine-red eyes.
"No... it can't be" Your eyes widened to see the feline butler from Devil's palace, Muu, squirming in your hands.
"H-hey!" Muu frantically yelled. "Let me go! Don't erase me!"
"..." In a moment of shock, you raise Muu to the sky (that moment from The Lion King) and hold him tight in your grip. Why was Muu here?
"...Who are you?" you decided to start with that question. In the story, it never showed that the angels had any interest in Muu. It'll be weird for an angel like you to know (or even acknowledge) his existence.
Muu looked as if you grew another head. "How- you can talk!?" Oh yeah, angels aren't supposed to say anything other than ["Die. For life"].
"Muu? Where are you?" There was an unrecognizable voice not that far away from the both of you. It didn't sound like any of the butlers, but Muu seemed to react to the voice. A panicked expression takes over Muu's face. "ARUJI-SAMA! DON'T COME NEAR!"
Aruji-sama...? Isn't that...
At that moment, a humanoid figure emerges from the trees.
It was a lady with long brown hair. They're not that tall, just a bit shorter than you. They wore a beautiful white dress with small flower stitching on the hem. Wow, Flure must've made that.
Aruji-sama (or, who you think it is) froze at the sight of you. They visibly paled and looked like they wanted to run away.
"Let...let him go!" the brunette exclaimed, pointing at Muu.
From your point of view, this seemed like a chance to gain their trust. A chance to gain information about the timeline. And... a chance to perhaps help them.
You must act clueless. They don't know you, but you do. "So... are you the master of the Devil Butlers?"
Just like with Muu, they looked at you as if you grew another head. "Are you another one of the Intelligent angels!?" they stood their ground and glared at you.
"Buddy, I'm flattered that you think I'm intelligent, but I'm not" You dead-panned at the brunette and let Muu down onto the ground. He rushed over to the master and hissed at you. "Don't worry, I won't erase you. Even if I wanted to I have no idea how to"
The duo seemed to relax a bit but the air was still tense. "How can we trust you?" "Why don't we introduce ourselves then?"
You sat on a rock near you and gestured for the duo to come near. They reluctantly go closer, but keep a short distance away from you.
"So then, my name is [Name]" You gesture to them to do the same. "...I'm Akane, the master of the Devil Butlers" The brunette quietly says. "And I'm Muu, Aruji-sama's butler" Muu proudly puffs his chest.
"Alright alrighty," You stretch and crack your knuckles. Nice, the introduction is complete, time to mess with them a bit.
"Is Muu a type of devil?" Akane and Muu looked at each other in silence and you smiled at them amused. "I- I'm not sure? Muu, you're a cat right??" "As far as I know, I think so?"
"How about you Miss Akane?" The girl flinched "Are you a type of devil? Do you have any cool powers?"
Akane fiddled with her fingers and looked down "No, I'm just a normal human being. But I can unleash the butler's powers! And, uh... that's all..."
"Hmm, that's cool." you mused. "I think I've asked enough questions, now it's your turn to ask me some" They instantly perked at this.
You closed your eyes, ready to be bombarded by questions. Akane asked the first question "Why exactly are you here?"
"Well, that's because I wanted a normal life instead of living in the angel's lair" Lie. You were planning on how to spend your life in this world
Muu asked the second question "Do you plan on attacking humans?"
"No. Like I said before, even if I wanted to I have no idea of how to erase people from existence" It's the truth. You don't EVER want to erase anyone.
Akane and Muu look at each other and talk in hushed voices. They're probably talking about what to ask next.
I shift my attention to the lake. It had a beautiful reflection of the sun setting. It must be night soon.
"You said you're not an intelligent angel, right?" Akane suddenly asks, catching you off guard. "If you're not an intelligent angel then... what exactly are you?"
You chuckled lightly. Yes. This is the question you wanted them to ask
"Well to put it simply, I'm a normal angel" You put a pause in between to make a dramatic effect. "But I wasn't an angel in the first place"
Your comment piqued their interest. Akane leaned forward and opened her mouth to ask a question, but you were quicker. You stood up from the rock and put your hand on Akane's mouth to silence her.
"Let's save your questions for another day, shall we? It's getting awfully late" you point to the setting sun.
"Oh yes! They must be worried by now!" Akane stands up and picks Muu up into her arms. "I'll... see you tomorrow?"
"Sure, why not?" you smile warmly at her. "Just don't tell any of your other butlers about me ok? I don't want anyone hunting my ass down"
Akane nods and waves at you. Muu's ears tilted back and his eyes shone. "Bye Miss Angel!"
They both rush through the trees, heading in the direction of Devil's Palace.
Once Akane's flowing dress was out of sight, you returned to the cabin to check up on Tristia.
"Hey Tristia I'm back-" you pause when you see Tristia sleeping soundly on the rocking chair near the empty fireplace.
"Ah," you walked over to a chair near the window and stared at the sky. The moon is out tonight. It's not a full moon yet so Lato doesn't have his trauma breakdowns yet.
The timeline...You know that Aruji-sama and Muu are here, meaning that the main story has started already. And Akane said "Another one of the intelligent angels" when you first met. This means that they had already encountered Seraphim.
"Which means... Haures is going to be demonized soon!" You have to warn them. But how? You can't just straight up tell them! "How should I help them..."
While you were debating and panicking, you didn't notice eyes of Tristia watching you
She was never asleep
She listened
She hoped
And she trusted
Tristia trusted you to save her brother.

[AKNK April Fool 2023] Butlers' Lie
A short summary of the cut scenes that happen if you log in during April Fool. I forgot to record everything, so I'm pulling these from memory (which, sadly, isn't that reliable). Heavily paraphrased. Feel free to point out any mistake(s).
Berrien - made a resolution to overcome his fear of bugs by keeping a butterfly's eggs (?) "I'm sorry Master, it was a lie. I didn’t keep any eggs, but it's true that I want to rid my fear of bugs. Therefore, hopefully someday we can walk together in the garden, enjoying the scenery."
Lono - greeted us in keigo (JP formal language) and claims he has mastered it then burst out laughing.
Bastien - claims he is able to understand and talk in cat language. "It was a lie but it would be nice if it were real. Maybe I should I ask Muu to teach me. How about we learn together, Master?"
Haures - he's now a master of baking and can successfully make anything even with eyes closed (?) "That I'm a master baker was a lie, but I truly want to be able to succeed someday so I'll keep learning."
Fennesz - today's dinner is mushroom stew! With the freshly picked mushroom I cultivated in the garden(?). Well, it's true the dinner is mushroom stew, but not from the garden. "To take anything from the garden, we need Ammon's permission after all."
Boschi - claim to have overcome dislikes of vegetables. "I'm asparagus lover now! ...Nah, what a joke. I'll never say such things. Be careful, Master. If you ever see someone with my face saying he likes veggies, that's how you know that is not me."
Ammon - "Master, notice something different about me today?" No, the master doesn't. Ammon invites us to take a closer look before claiming he now has his piercing underneath his tongue instead of ears. "Well, that was a lie. Nothing about my piercings changed, sorry about that, Master. Your serious face looking for the answer was cute though."
Lamli - "I've never told anyone this but I used to be a cat a long time ago!" Yeah, that was the lie. Then he keeps going how Nac is actually more cat-like than him with his heterochromia. "Should I call him Nyakku?"
Lucas - new season, new resolution! He's going to stop drinking from now on! Well, April Fool. He's not. "But I do find myself restrain more when you're around, Master. Think you can stay on the manor to be with us for today? Eh, this is not part of the lie, you know."
Nac - claim to have overcome his meat phobia. And then a story about Lamli fed him fried frogs??? (I'm horrified I have so little memories of the story)
Lato - "A special day where you're allowed to tell lies? How strange for humans to have such a day, given without it, they lie on daily basis." Rather than lying, he'd make true (force) the words he says. His wishes are: to go to a parsley field with Master, to watch ants in the garden with Master, and for the Master to remain in the manor. [Note: There's a mention of a book though I forgot the details about this. Does the book grant any wishes that are written on it?]
Flure - says "actually I-" and then stops there, giving up because he remembers Lato hate lies. Flure had wanted to say that he had successfully get Lato to quit calling/referring him as his little brother. Then Lato appears, saying, "To stop your lie midway just because you remember I hate those... As I thought, my little brother is a really kindhearted person." After he walks away, Flure: "If you heard what my lie was I do hope you stop calling me that though..." [Note: Flure's expression is slightly comical in my opinion, so this scene is actually rather heartwarming in its entirety]
Miyaji - claims he has grown taller by 2 cm, thus making his head bump into things more often. Well, the former is a lie but the latter is truth. Miyaji: wait, could it be I've gotten taller for real?
Teddy - impersonating Yuuhan, claiming that's who he really is after the classic collide-onto-each-other-then-switch-bodies scenario.
Yuuhan - likewise, he impersonates Teddy.
Hanamaru - claims that Yuuhan calls him 'Dad' in his sleep-talk. "How does that sound, Master? Isn't it amusing?" Yuuhan, in eerie smile and a voice I imagine colder than the Antarctica, "No, not at all." Hanamaru jumps in surprise. Yuuhan: How audacious of you to claim I sleep-talk when it's you who has to be waken up every morning by Teddy and I... Master, can I borrow Hanamaru for a moment?

'Come on Haru! We're going to be late.' called Hiromi as she knocked on the bathroom door.
Haur opened it a crack and looked at her best friend.
'I can't wear thing.' she whispered.
'Oh come on. You promised that I could choose our costumes.' pouted Hiromi.
Haru sighed
'Well I know I did but does it have to be so short.' she muttered.
'Hey I agreed that you could wear shorts underneath it.' laughed her best friend 'Unless you want to swap with me.'
Haru eyed her friend's red hot pants.
'Umm no thank you.' she murmured.
'Good choice.' grinned Hiromi 'Now here are your wings. You are definitely the more angelic of the two of us Ru.'
Haru sighed again. She had no idea what she had expected when Hiromi had begged to choose their fancy dress outfits but for some reason it hadn't been this. She awkwardly pulled on the hem of her white dress.
'Tell me again why Tsuge is having a party?' she asked.
'It's his birthday.' replied Hiromi as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
'He never had a birthday party the whole time that we were in school together.' murmured Haru.
'That's true but I guess its a combination of his birthday and flat warming party.' grinned Hiromi as she adjusted her horns.
'Also why am I invited? I don't think I've spoken a word to the guy since we finished high school.' commented Haru.
'Well that's because I begged for my best friend to come. Who else will I have to talk to?' smiled Hiromi.
'I'm sure that you will know a number of people attending. You do go to the same university.' replied Haru.
'Come on Ru it's a party! Couldn't you be a little more happy about it.' whined Hiromi.
'You promise that HE won't be there.' she murmured.
'Yes I was very insistent. Tsuge isn't a big fan of Machida anyway. They just happened to be neighbours growing up.' nodded Hiromi.
'Well that's a relief.' smiled Haru 'I'm going to be awkward enough without bumping into my ex.'
Maybe you'll meet a new beau.' responded Hiromi wiggling her eyebrows.
Haru laughed swatting her friend with her hand.
'Romi didn't you say we were going to be late?' asked Haru.
Hiromi looked started and quickly checked the time.
'Oh no! Come on or we will really be late!' she squealed pulling Haru towards the front door.
Tsuge's flat was on the top floor of a small block. The music was pumping and it was filled with people who Haru didn't know and she instantly felt anxious. They had been there less than ten minutes before Hiromi left her side to greet some friends leaving her alone. She grimaced, already wishing that she hadn't come.  Parties really weren't her thing, especially dressed like this. Haru decided it would be better to wander around the flat than stand awkwardly still in a corner. It was already getting warm due to the number of people in the small flat. She picked up a tumbler of lemonade as she passed a table. She could feel a breeze and wondered where it was coming from. Following the cool air Haru found a door left ajar. She curiously pushed it open to find it led out onto a balcony. Leaving the noise behind her Haru stepped out into the moonlight. She gazed up at the stars initially before closing her eyes, enjoying the breeze caressing her warm cheeks. A slight noise made her eyes shoot open and she realised that she wasn't alone. She looked over to see someone leaning against the rail looking at the city below.
'Hello.' she greeted causing them to jump and spin around.
Although this was a costume party the outfit seemed unusual. Initially Haru thought he was dressed as a musketeer but when he turned to face her she realised he was also dressed as a cat. Haru felt her own costume wasn't much compared to his elaborate outfit. Even the eyes behind the mask were cat like.
'Amazing what contact lenses you can get nowadays.' mused Haru to herself.
The eyes looked panicked as if he had been caught doing something he shouldn't have.
'I'm sorry. I didn't mean to spook you.' she apologised.
The cat man seemed to relax at her words but chuckled nervously.
'This isn't my usual sort of thing.' he admitted.
'Nor me.' replied Haru 'Did you come out here for a breather?'
'Psyching myself to go in.' he replied.
Haru laughed.
'Are you a friend of Tsuge?' she asked.
'More like a friend of a friend.' he murmured vaguely 'I don't really know anyone here.'
'Same here. My best friend Hiromi dragged me here. She's Tsuge's girlfriend but I haven't really seen him since high school. I had no choice to come but then she ditched me' sighed Haru leaning against the rail.
'My friends insist that I should get out more.' he admitted 'It's not easy.'
'Yeah I would rather be curled up with a book than be here dressed like this but she's so good and guilt tripping me.' replied Haru.
'You're idea sounds much more appealing to me.' he smiled.
'I didn't used to be this anti social but things happened and I closed myself off.' she murmured.
'Oh?' he replied sounding intrigued.
'Sorry but that's a story I won't be sharing.' she sighed 'How about you?'
'What about me?' he frowned.
'Why your friends have encouraged you to attend a party but left you on your own?' she questioned.
'Oh.' he responded as his eyes flitted to a tree across the street and then back to her 'I guess you could call it trying to get me over my social anxiety.'
'Well you are doing well as I'm a complete stranger.' she smiled.
'You are very easy to talk to Miss Angel.' he admitted causing Haru to blush.
'Why thank you good sir. I'm Haru by the way.' she smiled holding out her hand.
He looked down at her hand with uncertainty at first but then reached for it with his own.
'I'm Baron.' he responded.
His hand was gloved and warm. It felt a little funny but not enough to concern Haru.
'Nice to meet you Baron. Perhaps we can keep each other company?' she suggested.
He looked at her before giving her a shy nod.
Things were going well on the balcony and both were thinking perhaps their friends suggestion to attend hadn't been as bad as they had thought. The atmosphere was rather relaxed between them. Unfortunately this was broken by another voice.
'Hey Babe!' came a slurred voice from behind causing Haru to stiffen.
She gripped the balcony rail causing her knuckles to turn white. They had promised that he wouldn't be here. She was just beginning to enjoy herself when he had appeared to spoil things. Baron looked at Haru with worry in his eyes. Slowly he turned to see the dark male staggering towards them. He wasn't even in costume which suggested that he had gate crashed the party. Haru has begun to shake which alarmed Baron further. Before he had thought through his actions he wrapped a comforting arm around her. She looked up at him in surprise.
'Hey you! Get your hands off my girlfriend.' demanded the drunk.
At the comment Haru's eyes seemed to blaze. She turned under Baron's grasp to face the intruder.
'I am not your girlfriend Machida.' she hissed 'You lost the privilege to call me that.'
'Aww come on Haru. It was an accident.' he whined.
She scoffed and moved herself closer to Baron. She prayed he wouldn't mind her using him in that moment.
'I've moved on.' she exclaimed 'Leave us alone.'
'With that!' exclaimed Machida in disbelief looking at Baron who stiffened under his gaze.
'Yeah he's twice the man you will ever be.' she growled 'Leave us alone.'
Baron sucked in his breath causing Haru to look up at him. Being this close she was beginning to realise that certain part of his costume were real but she would still rather risk her life with this cat man than her ex. The shaking continued and she turned into Baron's chest for comfort. He tightened his grip around her. He had not known her for very long but he was already feeling protective of her. He was tempted to challenge the boy in front of him to a duel but realised it wasn't the time or the place.
'Want to get out of here?' he whispered to Haru.
'Yes, but how? We're on the top floor.' she replied.
'The same way I got in.' he grinned.
Baron looked over to Machida who was wobbling about all over the place glaring at them. There was no way anyone would believe this drunk if he tried to tell anyone about what was about to happen. Baron gave Haru a small squeeze.
'Just trust me' he murmured before surprising the brunette by sweeping her up into his arms and leaping over the rail.
Haru was too shocked to even scream but she gripped onto him more tightly. How would she explain this to Hiromi in the morning?

Died Out; K.YY ff
Tumblr media
Desc:// Maybe things would have worked out... as long as the flame hadn't died out.

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
There was only one thing that could heal a broken heart. Time, right? No. Sex.
I'm kidding. Time really does make a difference. I spent time figuring out who I was since the break up.
It was kinda nice this way. I'd gotten so used to having someone with me all the time I forgot how it felt to have company in myself. Did I miss Jungkook? Initially, yes. But I'm happy now.
I've found myself and along the way, I made myself a best friend. But that didn't last long til we were trying to suck each other's face off.
--
*Buzz buzz*
"Mm- oh, yug, I gotta take this. I'll be right back!" I gave him a quick peck on the lips.
Yugyeom and I were quite quick into this relationship... but I think there's good reason for that. We have great chemistry. We never fight and we make time for each other.
"Ok, im back. Sorry about that." "It's alright baby. Was is work again?" "Yeah. They want me to come in." "You should go. I know you want to." "But I wanted this day with you.." "We have tomorrow babe. I'm not going anywhere." "You're right. I'll text you later. Love you." "I love you too."
--
Ok so I guess I need to fill you in. I was 13 when Jungkook and I broke up. I'm 18, almost 19 now. Yugeyom and I have been together for 3 of those years.
I'm so blessed to have Yug in my life. He's the sweetest, cutest, sexiest guy I've ever met.
[3 months later]
It's August 13, my birthday!
I woke up to a text from yugyeom. "Hey, wake up sleepy head. Be ready by 8, we have a big day ahead of us!" I smile at his text. "Happy birthday btw!"
It's currently 7:42am so I just throw my haur in a messy bun and put on a pair of leggings and a crop top. At 8 sharp, I hear Yugyeoms horn outside my house. I slip on my shoes and head out the door.
--
"Wow, yug. This is beautiful!" "I knew you'd like it." He smiled down at me. The rest of the day we walked around town, watched a movie, got coffee and cake at the cafe... it was perfect. Except for one thing... My heart wasn't fluttering at all. Not even when we held hands... he smiled at me.. when we kissed... nothing.
I figured sleeping on it would be best. I let yugyeom stay over that night and he woke me up with breakfast in bed. "It's your favorite!" "Oh, thank you baby!" I smile so he doesn't think anything wrong. It's weird still no butterflies.
[2 months later]
I'm going to break up with Yugyeom. It's been 2 months and I no longer feel the flame between us. I texted yugyeom about 5 minutes ago to meet me at the park. I've just arrived and I see yugyeom on a bench.
"Hey... yug." "Hey babe, whats wrong? You look sad." "Yeah. I am.. We need to talk." "What about?" "Ok, im just going to cut to the chase. We need to break up." "What? Babe why?" "I've fallen out of love." I didn't even want to hear what he had to say it hurt too much for me to confess this.
For a week, I received texts from yugyeom. And then they stopped.
Maybe we were temporary. It's time to move on. With time, I guess our flame... died out

Ik this seems rushed, but that how I wanted it to seem and I wanted to keep it short. That probably makes it a really bad fan fic but I hope you liked it regardless. I'm working on a larger project about JK (aside from 97 line) and it's taking up a lot of time to even come up with a plot. I hope you guys look forward to my other works new reactions coming soon!
Requests are always open!

Vylance Fluff Fic
Idea for the short fic: "No amount of stars in the sky even begin to get close to how many reasons I love you."
@twifox-the-queer hope you like it, I had to rewrite it cause I closed Tumblr without saving it like a moron.
"How many stars do you think there are in the sky?"
A soft question, air rushing out past even softer lips that belonged to the man laying on his back, staring up at the sky. He didn't even glance at the man next to him to see if they heard his question; of course they heard, they always listen to him when he rambles. But this question, one that came out of seemingly nowhere, and was somewhat out of character for the quiet, soft spoken, and usually stoic man, really threw his companion off for a minute.
"Stars in the sky?" Blue eyes as light as the sky on a clear day blinked open, the sound of rustling as their owner sat up and turned to look at the man who had asked such a crazy yet reasonable question, head tilted to the side ever so slightly, making his light brown haur fall over his eyes a bit.
They hummed in response, a simple yes from him. The lying man, who's skin was much darker than his bkue-eyed companion, didn't open his eyes, or even really move, just waiting for an answer to his question.
"A lot probably.. geez.. more than anyone could ever count in a life-time.. Why are you so curious about it, Vylad?" They wondered aloud, turning to gaze up at the clear starry night, sitting in a clearing surrounded by trees and the gentle rustling as the many creatures in nature moved about.
And finally, a pair of emerald eyes opened, only half way though, and turned to gaze at the sitting man. He chuckled, the sound soft and barely audible, much like the person who made it, who could slip away and no one would even know he was gone, or could be right next to you, and you would never know.
Vylad took a deep breathe before pushing himself up into a sitting position, still smiling gently at his boyfriend. "Because, Laurance, I doubt that if you gathered all the stars in the sky, you could never get a number more than the amount of reasons I love you."
A cough, stammering words as Laurance attempted to find a response, face becoming tinted with red as he blushed. "W-well how many stars do you think there are in the sky, mr. space nerd?"
Space nerd, a nickname Vylad was given after pointing out multiple constellations and talking about random facts he happened to know. He shook his head, scooting closer and leaning up, making their faces only inches apart. "More than a google." He whispered, voice dropping quite a few octaves to where Laurance had to lean even closer to hear him.
"And how many zeroes are in a google?" He asked, reaching out to place a hand on Vylad's hip and pull him closer, eyes locked together.
"A hundred zeroes, and I can still think of more reasons than that of why I love you." Vylad told him, and like that it was like a switch was flipped.
Laurance closed the gap between them, connecting their lips and feeling them instantly fit together like perfect puzzle pieces. He pulled Vylad into his lap, remaining gentle, as his other hand cupped the tan boy's cheek, smiling. One of Vylad's hands gripped the front of Laurance's shirt, the other tangling into brown locks and lightly tugging.
There was no ferocity in the kiss, no lust or need or feralness. Just a gentle press of lips together, gentle reminders that they had eachother. The kiss didn't have to be feirce or desperate for them to be able to feel the passion.
Neither wanted to break the kiss, but sady, things must be done and Laurance still has to breathe, even if Vylad doesn't. And when he pulled back, he watched as Vylad, eyes still closed, slightly trailed after him, as if not wanting him to end it so soon.
Emerald eyes open and met with blue ones, matching dopey grins spread over their faces as Vylad began to giggle lightly. The chuckling turned into soft chuckles, which soon turned to amused laughter. And when he laughs, well it's infectious and Laurance couldn't resist laughing as well, even if he wasn't sure what was so funny.
"Heh, mind telling me what gives you the giggles mr?" He asked, still holding the man in his lap.
Vylad took a second to calm down enough, hiccuping a bit and wiping his eyes. "Ah.. nothing much, other than how stupidly dopey your face looked."
"Hey! My face is beautiful, just like the rest of me. And just like you!" Laurance exclaimed, feigning hurt, which made Vylad laugh even more.
"Hehe!! I know, Laur..." He mumbled, grinning wide as he nuzzled into the crook of the taller man's neck, arms wrapping loosely around his shoulders as he let out a small sigh of content. "I love you."
The guard looked down at the rouge, smiling gently at how adorable he looked right then. "I love you too, V. I always will." He replied, running his hand gently through the other's dark brown mop of hair. "You wanna just stay outside tonight. Sleep under the stars?"
A small hum of agreement was what he got, and he could tell Vylad was already dozing off. So, Laurance laid down on his back once more, his smaller boyfriend curled up on his chest (like a cat in his opinion) and shut his eyes. Sleep didn't take long to find him, and as he was drifting off, he realized something.
Vyllad was right, no amount of stars in the sky could ever come close to how many reasons they loved eachother, and Laurance realized just how lucky he was to find someone who understood him, who'd stay by his side till the end of time.

Could I request some Hevie? Would it be possible to ask for Harriet and CJ to interrogate their brother’s new girlfriend? I love when writers explore Harry’s family relationships and meet the girlfriend/boyfriend scene can be really fun! Have a great day!😋🙂
MEETING THE FAMILY
(Harry Hook x Evie Grimhilde)
Warnings: this got away from me lol, not much some tension
3k+ words
A/n: thank you so much for the request!! sorry Evie and harry aren’t newly dating also I used a Scottish translator, but I tried to make sure it was still understandable lol
“Evie, you’ve been fixing your makeup for forty-five minutes. You look great and it’s gonna be fine.”
Evie huffed leaning closer towards to the mirror, swiping at the top of her lip with a sharpened nail. She eyed the blue haired girl relaxed on her bed through her vanity.
“that’s easy for you to say, you grew up with them.”
“and she’s not Harry’s girlfriend.” Mal pointed out casually as she typed something on her laptop. Evie pursed her lips and glared at her best friend.
“okay so that’s an example of what not to say to help me.” Uma sniggered at Evie’s anxiety-filled response. “plus, I haven’t seen them since the isle.”
“They’ve been here for a year and you still haven’t talked to them?” Mal asked with a raised brow
“No! Me and harry were only sneaking around on the isle so I never met them, and we only started dating again 6 months ago, 3 of which were the summer.”
“They ur gonnae loove ye princess.” Harry smiled as he walked out of the on-suite bathroom, pressing a chaste kiss to her cheek.
Evie quickly shooed him away, “I did not spend over an hour on my makeup for you to kiss it away pirate.”
Harry let out a deep chuckle as his phone binged. He pulled it out and smiled at his girlfriend, “They’re haur.”
Evie let out a shaky breath and stood up, wiping her sweaty palms on her skinny jeans. She wasn’t entirely happy with her look but both Uma and mal suggested something casual. Evie had originally protested, wanting to wear one of her signature blue skirts but harry just politely agreed with the other girls and suggested she stay casual, knowing that his sisters may see her as a “princess”. And though Harry loves her for everything she is and doesn’t want her to change, he also really wants his sisters to like Evie. So that means she’s wearing dark blue high waisted jeans, a red velvet crop top, and industrial black boot heels.
She let out another shaky breath, checking herself out in her full-length yet another time. Harry sighed with a fond smile and gently pushed Evie towards the door, grinning at her nervous mumbling. He led her out the door, offering a small wave to his former captain and the purple-haired queen to be. Evie chewed on her bottom lip nervously as they walked down the castle corridor and towards the grand staircase. Evie took small nervous steps as they descended the staircase, knowing that she would be face to face with Harry’s sister the minute they walked out the door.
Evie’s breath picked up as she made out to girls sitting on some stonework right outside the door. Her pulse picked up and her eyes widened as she spun on her heel to head right back to her room. Harry stopped her with his body, placing gentle hands on her arms.
She looked up at him with a down right scared look in her eyes, “Harry I can’t do this.”
“princess, aye ye can. Ah promise ye ‘at they will loove ye.”
“No harry… I can’t. this isn’t like making amends with Gil and Uma. Uma only hated me by association, so that wasn’t my problem and Gil can’t hate a single soul. They were easy, they were a part of my life for so long and I had classes with them and I got to know them. It’s not like that with your sisters. This is your blood, your family. I know that their opinions mean everything to you.” She let out a shaky breath, “This can’t be the reason we break up.”
Harry sighed slightly, his hands rubbing up and down her arms ever so slightly. “Aye princess they ur mah faimly, but sae ur ye. Sae is Gil an’ Uma an’ e’en Jay, Carlos, an’ Mal.” Evie smiled at that, “Faimly isnae jist bluid, faimly is who is by yer side thru thick an’ thin. Their opinion is important but sae is yoors an’ sae ur others. They dinnae decide who ah loove. Ah dae.”
Evie nodded hurriedly and turned back around, gripping Harry’s hand tightly as they walked towards the door. She opened it gently, squinting as the bright sun ambushed her.
CJ squealed slightly as she ran over to hug her older brother. Harriet continued to lean against a wall, acting cool and suave.
“Haye thaur ye wee runt.” Harry smiled as he hugged his sister and spun her around. “Hoo is skale treatin’ ye?”
CJ placed her feet back on the ground and pushed a loose blonde strand behind her ear, “It’s gud. Sophomair year is easy sae far.”
Evie placed her hands behind her back, “How was freshman year?”
CJ sent her a look that had Evie bristling and Harriet smirking. Harry was just clueless. “Fine.” Evie’s lips folded in as she rocked on her heels slightly. Harriet pushed off the wall, flicking some dirt from her fingers. She took a few menacing steps forward, arms crossed and eyes heated with judgment. Her eyes raked up and down Evie’s form, her tongue tracing over her lips slightly.
“Sae yoo’re th’ famoos Evie.”
Evie quickly smiled at the older girl and stuck her hand out, “I know we didn’t really see much of each other on the Isle but it is nice to see you again Harriet.”
Harriet eyed the princess’s hand slightly before quickly grabbing ahold of it, shaking it just a tad too roughly and quickly.
Harry just smiled brightly, clapping his hands together and looping his arms over each shoulder of his sisters. “let’s gou tae lunch.”
The three siblings started walking down the pathway leaving Evie to huff in frustration and strut after them.
CJ had been wanting to try a sandwich place so she took the lead and decided that they were going there.
“Ye ken, it woods be gud tae ask e’er’body if they want tae come haur.”
CJ simply waved him off as she opened the door to the small restaurant. “Harriet owes me a body an’ ah ken Evie won’t min’, reit Evie?”
Evie just smiled, “not at all CJ.” The four took a seat at a small table near a window and began thumbing through the menu.
Evie smiled at the girls, “order whatever, my treat.”
CJ smiled happily and began rattling off all the things she wants to get as Harriet just eyed the girl. Harriet was about to open her mouth and say something snarky, Evie assumed, but Harry’s phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket and cursed lightly under his breath.
“It’s Gil, jist gezz mah a minute.” He excused himself from the table and walked outside just as the waiter came around. Evie’s eyes stayed focused on Harry who was pacing outside the window, phone pressed to his ear. Evie watched as he threw his head back before roughly pushing his phone back into his pocket practically storming back into the restaurant. “Weel Ah hae tae gou, 'at divit Gil is in th' wey o mess up uir project.”
Harriet snorted, “classic Gil.”
Evie’s heart sped up immensely and she looked to Harry with wide eyes, “we can uh… reschedule the lunch if that’s better.”
Harry just waved her off, not sensing the immediate surge anxiety that was beginning to overcome her, “nae tae wurry, ye shoods gi’e tae ken each other while ah deal wi’ th’ divit Gil.”
Harry gave one last smile to the gaggle of girls seated at the table before scurrying off, muttering things about how Gil can’t be trusted with even the simplest of things.
Evie swallowed thickly and looked to the two sisters sitting in the booth across from. Her eyes flitted from the short blonde to the strong brunette, how could she feel this intimidated? She was the daughter of the evil queen for evil’s sake!
“So… Harriet, how is UA treating you?”
Harriet picked at her nails, seemingly uninterested in the question before she eyed the blueberry princess heatedly. “Huvnae started skale yit. but let's nae bortha wi' th' wee gab, we ur haur tae gi’e tae ken each other better arenae we?”
Evie smiled tightly and nodded, breathing out a small breath of relief as the waiter came by and set down a water in front of both her and Harriet and a large milkshake in front of CJ. CJ shrugged, “Evie said she was buyin'.”
Evie giggled slightly, “no worries CJ. Get whatever you want.”
The waiter tapped his pen against the notepad and smiled at the ladies, “What can I get you guys today?”
CJ rattled off her order in a speed so quick Evie would be surprised if the waiter caught it all, but instead of complaining he simply smiled at the younger girl. Harriet ordered next, her meal sounding much simpler.
The waiter looked towards Evie last with an expecting gaze. Evie had been so preoccupied with anxiety that she had forgotten to look at the menu, “could I just have the salad of the day please?”
The waiter smirked and sent her a wink that had her bristling uncomfortably, “would that be all for you beautiful ladies.”
Evie blushed and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear nervously, “yes that’s it. Thank you.” She didn’t breathe properly until he had completely walked away with the menus, only then did she deflate into the booth slightly.
“Wa ur ye flirtin' wi' other men fur when yoo're wi' mah brither?” Harriet accused.
Evie gasped, “I was not flirting!”
“A salad aye?” CJ said completely changing the subject and pulling Evie’s attention to her.
Evie just nodded, “um… yeah I’m not too hungry right now.”
“Tryin' tae lose weecht? daein' one ay those detox teas those princesses fancy haur sae much?”
Evie shook her head looking appalled, “of course not! Those teas are horrible for you, and no I’m not trying to lose weight. I really just wanted a salad.”
Harriet eyed Evie up and down, “Weel it's guid 'at yoo're nae tryin' tae lose weecht coz ye coods afford tae pit oan puckle poonds. harry likes his burds a wee bit thicker.”
Evie pursed her lips and forced herself to calm down and answer politely, “Well thank you for being concerned for my health but I promise you I’m taking care of myself.”
“Och aam sure yoo're takin' caur ay yerself but ur ye takin' caur ay uir brither?” Harriet snarked over her glass of water.
CJ nodded with a mouth full of milkshake, “He can be quite forgetful sometimes. needs someain tae swatch it fur heem.”
“well I do take care of your brother but I’m not your mom so I’m happy to say that I act like a girlfriend more than anything.” Evie said sharply before forcing herself to take another calming breath.
“Keep uir mammy out ay yer gob princess. that'll be th' only time Ah warn ye” Harriet whisper with a deadly glare. The air was tense at the table only for the waiter to break it up by placing their plates down in front of them. He sent Evie another wink, but she didn’t even look up from her salad to thank him.
“I’m sorry.” Evie said softly, “I didn’t mean to offend you.” Another tense pause. Evie ventured forward cautiously, “Harry’s told me a little bit about your mother. She’s sounds wonderful.”
“she was.” Harriet snapped, “Far tay guid fur baith uir faither an' 'at godforsaken islain ye left us oan.”
Evie choked on her salad, “that I left you on? I’m the reason you’re off the isle right now!” Evie was trying her best to stay positive and cordial towards Harry’s sisters, but this was beginning to be a little too much.
Harriet scoffed, “Harry tauld me 'at ye an' heem waur a hin' an' 'en ye left heem fur these stuck up princes.” She folded her arms defiantly, “Hoo lang did it tak' ye tae remin' 'yoor true love' an' gi’e heem aff 'at place?”
Evie winced, “too long.” Evie looked up from her food, “Look I know we messed up. We all did. The VKs, King Ben, Former King Adam, hell all of Auradon messed up but we’re trying to make it right. And yes it did take me longer than preferred to get more kids of that isle, but I won’t let you sit there and say that I simply forgot about your brother and moved on no problem.”
Evie let out a shaky breath before continuing with more strength, “I was the one who wanted to tell everyone. I wanted to meet you from the beginning of our relationship. Harry thought it wouldn’t be a good idea and looking back, he was right. We’d both be dead right now if we told any of our friends or family, so we kept it a secret. Leaving him on that isle was on the hardest things I have ever done, and the worst part was I couldn’t even miss him! I couldn’t tell anyone that we were a thing because we were secret and then Mal went and screwed up again and got us in that entanglement which is a whole other thing to deal with.” Evie huffed out as she pushed her locks from her forehead.
She folded her hands into her lap and softened her voice, “I’m sorry that it took us so long to get you guys off the isle, I really am. But don’t think that I ever stopped loving your brother, because he was and is the only person I’ve ever loved.”
“Whit abit Doug?” CJ who had remained quiet during Evie’s small outbreak spoke up softly.
Evie gave a small humorless laugh, “Doug was a distraction. He was nice and kind and funny and I was new to Auradon so it was overwhelming. He helped me settle in and start my business, so I always be thankful to him for that. But… there never was anything between us. Sure a kiss or two but no sparks.”
“Diz mah brither ken thes?” Harriet asked, a new easiness taking over her persona.
Evie nodded, “yeah he does. Gave Doug a bit of a scare when we first got back together but they’re okay now. Doug even helps him with English assignments from time to time.”
Harriet sighed fiddling with one of her messy braids in what seems to be a nervous fashion, “Weel princess, there's a chance Ah judged ye tay early.” She glanced to her younger sister who was happily munching on her sandwich, “We baith did.”
CJ nodded her head, a small piece of lettuce falling from between her lips. Evie smiled at them, “well thank you for giving me a chance. I really do like your brother and I was hoping to get along with you all as well.”
Harriet smirked slightly, “Ah hink we coods make somethin' wark.”
~.~
The rest of lunch was uneventful, the girls sharing funny stories with a few interjections on the upcoming school year. They reminisced about their time on the isle and grimaced over their parents. Overall it ended up being pretty okay, if you looked past the one rough patch. Evie had hugged both girls goodbye before going up to her dorm room, with what could only be described as a content smile on her face. She opened her door with her key and fell onto her large bed with a sigh.
“I presume it went well?” Mal asked from behind a book
“yeah it actually did.”
“harry stopped by earlier looking for you.”
Evie picked up her head slightly, “do you know where he is now?”
Mal looked over the edge of her book, her black rimmed glasses pushed high on her nose. “Do I look like his personal GPS? This is why we have phones.”
Evie snorted but pulled out her phone nonetheless and typed a quick message to her boyfriend.
Princess: Mal said you were looking for me
Pirate: aye Yeah Ah was seein' if ye waur back frae th' lunch yit.
Princess: I’m back now, are you in your dorm.
Pirate: aye
Princess: I’m coming over
Pirate: Cannae wayte.
Evie rolled off her bed throwing her small purse over her shoulder once again. She turned towards Mal as she walked towards the door, “I’m going to see Harry, don’t need to wait up.”
Mal just sent her a thumbs up as Evie picked up the small bag of leftovers and walked outside her dorm. She made quick work of exiting her dorm and crossing the short path to the boys’ dorm. She pulled out the spare key Harry had given her (shhhh! Don’t tell fairy godmother) and entered the building quietly. She checked to make sure no guards were around before scurrying up the familiar staircase and walking to his dorm.
She knocked lightly on the wood and it was only a second later when the door opened. Evie was immediately greeting with a shirtless grinning Harry, arguably one of her favorite sights. She smiled a little coy smile at him and lifted the brown bag into view, “I brought leftovers.”
Harry’s smile widened as he placed a dramatic hand over his chest, “A lassie efter mah ain heart.”
Evie walked past him with an eye roll, “I thought I already had it.”
“Aye princess ye dae.”
“Hey!” the sharp voice sounded from Gil’s bed and Evie looked over her shoulder to find Uma glaring at them. “the rule is no lovey dovey stuff while other people are here.” Gil just nodded from beside her while munching on some popcorn. The two of them had obviously been watching a movie on Uma’s computer.
Evie lifted a small cardboard box, “what if I offer you some dumplings?”
Uma smiled and motioned for Evie to toss them, “You’re forgiven.”
Evie settled on the bed and began unpacking the bag. Harry eyed her curiously, “Did ye buy me dinnah?”
Evie smiled, patting a spot on the bed next to her for Harry to sit down. He did so willingly. She pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek before pulling out more food, “It’s to celebrate.”
“Celebrate whit?”
Evie smiled up at him cheerfully, “your sisters loving me.”
Harry rolled his eyes but pulled her close anyways, “Ah tauld ye.”

For Prompt 14 of the 52-Week Writing Challenge:
“I can’t prove anything, but I would have thought our friendship would have awarded me the courtesy of your trust.”
This prompt did not fit a single thing I wanted to write, but it did make me think of what The Warrior’s response would be...not really a story, just a little scene
I expect I will get zero fucks on this one, but that is how it goes...you can’t hit a home run every time
52-Week Storytelling Challenge MasterList
*****************************************
“I cannot prove anything, but I would have thought our friendship awarded me the courtesy of your trust.”
Kaylea Wolf gave him a skeptical look. “The list of people I trust is a short one,” she said, tossing her drink back. “And we are not friends.” She rose to leave.
“Please stay, my lady,” the prince said quickly, half rising from his seat. “I apologize if I have offended you, though I must say, it wounds me to hear you say we are not friends.”
“I do not know you well enough to call you a friend, your highness,” Kaylea replied gravely. “We have only met a few times.” She looked at the chair as if deciding if she wanted to sit back down. “If you have something to say, speak quickly. I will not listen to you slander the King of Erebor.”
Prince Imrahil took a deep breath, desperate to continue the conversation, if only to look on Kaylea Wolf for a few more minutes. He had loved her from the moment he first set eyes on her, many years ago. She was the fairest woman he had ever seen, even though he had only  rarely been in her company he remembered every detail of her finely chiseled features, her hair the color of spun gold, her lean body wrapped in black garments. The prince knew she did not return his affection, though he always hoped to persuade her. It was a rare chance to see her here in Minas Tirith, though there was often word of her travelling the lands of Middle Earth her business rarely brought her to the cities in the south. He wondered why she had reacted so strongly to the mention of King Thorin, then he noticed the Dwarven designs on the beads she wore on the small braids that fell forward from her temples. She was known to associate with Elves and wizards, it seemed she also had dealings with the Dwarves, as unlikely as that sounded.
“I am only relaying what I have heard,” Imrahil said. “I do not know the King Under the Mountain personally, perhaps you know him well enough to speak for his character. In that case, I will defer to your judgement.”
Kaylea put a boot up on the chair, leaning on her knee. “The Dwarves are no allies of the Dark Lord, he has tried before to bend them to his will and failed.”
She glanced quickly around the inn. The midday meal had passed and there were only a few patrons, richly dressed men no doubt waiting for appointments in the Citadel. The White Fox was the closest inn to the tower gates and well known for the quality of its fare. She assumed Prince Imrahil was here to see the Steward, though he certainly did not need to wait on an escort from the guard. The last time she had seen him was many years ago, when she had been riding across his country. Tall and fair-haired, obviously a descendant of the race of Numenor, it surprised her to not see a wedding band on his finger. He would be a fine catch for any noblewoman of the south. She was about to ask the prince about the rumors she had heard concerning Saruman the White when Gloin walked in, with his son Gimli and another Dwarf she did not recognize. His face lit up in surprise when he saw her. Kaylea quickly crossed the room to greet them, the three Dwarves bowed low to her.
“At your service, my lady,” Gloin said, in Khuzdul. “This is quite a surprise! You know my son Gimli, this is Haur.”
“And yours and your family’s,” Kaylea replied politely in the same language, returning their bows. “What brings the Dwarves of the Erebor to Minas Tirith?”
“The appetite of Men for Dwarven steel is nearly limitless, it seems,” the old Dwarf replied. “It is past time for us to negotiate a new contract.”
Kaylea laughed. “You are the right Dwarf for that job! I doubt there is another who could drive a harder bargain!”
Gloin smiled into his beard. “Thank you, my lady.” He looked up at her, as always a bit awestruck by her beauty. “I hope seeing you here means you will soon return to the Lonely Mountain. The King could use some cheering up.”
“When does the King ever not need something to cheer him up?” Kaylea replied. Thorin’s brooding nature was a sort of running joke among the members of his old company. “Yes, after I have finished my business here I will ride to Erebor. I am quite looking forward to seeing the King.”
Prince Imrahil watched the tall warrior woman talking with the Dwarves, astounded. She obviously knew them well, and even spoke their language, which was even more impressive. He remembered suddenly there had been rumors she was at the battle for Erebor, so they were true. Once again, he wished she would give him the opportunity to know her better. The prince found himself very envious of the easy familiarity she seemed to share with the Dwarves. He rose to join them, each Dwarf bowing formally as Kaylea introduced them.
“I am glad to meet the forgers of the steel that has saved me more than once in battle,” Imrahil told them, which resulted in much smiling and nodding from the Dwarves. “It is rare to see your folk in my kingdom of Belfalas.”
Haur frowned. “It is not often we travel to the cities of men, your highness. We prefer our own halls.”
The Dwarves moved to sit at one of the long tables, Gloin motioned to Kaylea to join them, but she shook her head. “I have several people to see today,” she said. “I must be on my way. If your business is swiftly concluded I may see you again in Erebor.”
“I will look forward to it, my lady,” Gloin replied. “Travel safely.”
Before Imarhil could protest, Kaylea nodded to him and went out the door without another word, her black wolf following her. The prince looked after her for a moment, then turned back to the Dwarves. Gloin was studying him closely.
“I would not hitch your hopes to that one, your highness,” he said gravely. “Unless you want to be disappointed.”
“I believe you are right, Master Dwarf,” Imrahil replied with a wry smile. “A woman that beautiful has her choice of suitors, I would be surprised if some nobleman of her own country has not already taken her as wife.”
The Dwarves looked at each other, finally Gimli answered. “She certainly could be married if she wished it.”
The prince felt his heart sink, he looked at the Dwarves wondering what they were not saying. “You seem to know a great deal more about her than I do,” he said. “Who is the man who has captured her heart?”
Gloin shook his head. “If you want to know the answer to that you must ask her yourself. If she has said nothing to you, she must have a reason. Now, let us have something to eat, it is always harder to negotiate on an empty stomach!”

Courtships and Orchids
Chapter Six: Dinner Surprises and Unfamiliar Sensations
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Y/N had been sick only three times her entire life. The first time was a week after she was born; when her mother had passed and her father had to find a suitable nurse since his wife never wanted one for her children . The second time was when she was six; she had fallen victim to an unknown malady and every doctor that came to the manor would say that there was no hope for the child . The third and last time was just before John and Peggy's wedding; Y/N would always say that it was brought by worrying about her present, after all she had never had to choose a wedding present by herself anymore . On the whole, she was one of the few people who could brag about having a strong, healthy body. This is why the horrid cough surprised her immensely .
'Y/N, mon amie! Are you all right?'
'Yes,' she pulled an embroidered handkerchief from her dress' pocket and pressed it to her lips, 'I'm quite all right.'
However , Gilbert was not convinced. He led the young woman towards the kitchens, ' Maybe ze cook will know somessink to 'elp.'
When they reached the manor's kitchens they were welcomed by warmth and the smell of a roasted meat. There was a long table in the middle of the long room which was completely bare apart from a little flower vase on top and a candle. Gilbert made Y/N sit on one of the chairs and called, 'Madame Wallace! Où êtes-vous?'
'Ici, mon ange.' A short, buxom woman appeared in the entryway between the kitchen and the staff's dining room. She immediately smiled at the sight of the two young people and approached them, wiping her hands on her apron . 'Mah hen miss Y/N! Whit brings yer charmin' self doon haur?' She looked her over and her eyes showed concern. 'Mah hen, ya dinnae look well.'
'I am good, Mrs Wallace.'
'She is not, Madame Wallace,' Gilbert replied curtly . Y/N observed his posture and she was surprised to see how much he looked like a military man, like a true general. His hands were clasped behind his back, his feet were planted on the ground, his back was as straight as a stick. He looked... dignified. 'I ssink zat she may need a cup of tea and a doctor to examine 'er.'
'It won't be necessary, Gilbert.' Y/N stood next to the Marquis and smiled at the cook. 'Mrs Wallace, I would like a cup of tea and nothing else. We needn't fuss.'
Mrs Wallace did not look very convinced, but she nodded, 'Weel, Ah ken whit tae dae. Aw reet, joost sit doon an' i'll brin' some jasmine tea. Ah will pit th' kettle oan.'
'Merci, Madame Wallace.'
Once they were seated on the table, next to each other, Y/N spoke, 'You must not worry about me. It is just a cough.'
Gilbert glanced at her and after a short deliberation, pressed his palm to her forehead. Y/N stifled the tiny gasp that threatened to leave her parted lips. His touch was gentle. His skin was just the right amount of calloused and soft. 'It could be something bad,' he sighed, 'You are warm, mademoiselle.'
'I-It is from the running, Gilbert. I assure I feel as right as rain.'
He smiled at her and lowered his palm to rest on her cheek. Y/N felt a very odd sensation in her stomach. Oh, dear Lord! She only hoped she wasn't about to spill the contents of her stomach in front of the admirable gentleman.
Thankfully , Mrs Wallace returned with a kettle and a small plate of biscuits. 'Thaur ye gang, loves.'
'Thank you, Mrs Wallace.'
'Thank you, Madame Wallace.'
'After ye finish, gang upstairs an' change intae somethin' dry. Tatties an' neebs will be served in an hoor.'
The pair sipped the fragrant drink in near silence. The soft pitter-patter of rain against the windows and the cackling logs in the fireplace created a lullaby which only reminded Y/N how tired she really was. Her body ached for a rest and the tea did very little to soothe her burning throat. She looked at the Marquis who had sat back in the wooden chair. Only now did she remember that he had given her his redingote. The sleeves of his pristine white shirt were absolutely wet.
Y/N got up from her chair, pulled another one in front of the fireplace and left the redingote to dry. She searched in one of the cabinets for a towel. When she found a fairly new one, she sat back down and began patting Gilbert's shoulders, trying to soak as much rain water as she possibly could. She couldn't let him freeze.
'What is your favourite star, mademoiselle?' Lafayette asked quietly. His warm breath tickled Y/N's skin and chills ran up and down her body. She gazed into his eyes and saw an honest interest. The Marquis needed to hear her answer, whatever it was.
'Sirius,' she replied simply, 'it is the brightest star.' She smiled fondly at a memory she suddenly recalled. 'My eldest brother Abraham. He used to tell me a story that mother had told him many times.'
Lafayette did not make a move to interrupt her so she continued, 'There was this... laird of a foreign land who fell in love with a beautiful maiden. Her skin was smother than the finest silk and her eyes gleamed like the sun. The laird would travel across the land only to gaze upon her. One day he finally spoke to her and found that she was not only beautiful, but very intelligent as well.'
'The laird wanted to marry her, her father agreed, but... another man came into their lives. I cannot remember if he was a sorcerer or just a really bad person, I am telling the story by memory... and that bad man wanted the beautiful maiden for himself. Not to love and cherish her, but to own her. When she refused him, he became angry and placed a curse on her. She fell ill. The laird did not know how to save his love and she died. He was heartbroken. So he prayed to God to bring her back, but God refused. Then the laird prayed to God to take him instead, but God refused once more. The laird prayed a third time and asked that his love be transformed into a star so he could gaze upon her until the day he too would depart from his world. The angels, they were so touched by his request that their tears revived the maiden. She and the laird entwined their lives in marriage and once they died their souls turned into one. The God took that soul, placed it on the night sky and saw that it shone brighter than any other.'
Lafayette nodded, speechless, 'What an... extraordinary tale.'
'It is,' Y/N agreed. 'Of course, to the mind of science, it would seem unrealistic, but I always love to look up at that star and imagine how strong their love truly was.' Y/N sipped her tea, lost in thought. 'But then again, it is a star.'
'Did zis story inspired you to study astronomy?'
'Well... I have always been fascinated by the unknown and the night sky was most unknown to me, even now.' Lady Beauchamps explained. 'But I found that it brought me closer to a mother I never had the chance to meet,... that and her flowers.'
Lafayette did not say a word after that.
After finishing their tea and thanking Mrs Wallace, Gilbert walked Y/N to her bedroom door and once there he turned to face her with a warm look in his chocolate brown eyes, 'I shall leave you 'ere . I 'ope to see you at dinner.'
Y/N smiled and curtsied, 'You shall , Monsieur Gilbert.'
(A/N: Où êtes-vous? - Where are you? (formal); Ici, mon ange - Here, my angel)
During the dinner the rest of the company wouldn't stop asking questions about the trip to New York. Y/N of course spoke of her work and Gilbert spoke of his fascination with the work of the Society. Still the conversation continued to circle around the fact that the two had time... alone. Y/N kept trying to avoid her father's hopeful look. She didn't want to disappoint him, but she and Gilbert were never going to get married. They agreed to form an amicable relationship for the duration of his stay in the manor, that did not mean that she was going to fall in love with him .
After the footmen took away their empty plates, everybody moved to the library for coffee and card games . The ladies had gathered around a small table, playing Préférence. Peggy was watching from the side, entranced by the way her sisters and cousin exchanged cards, and kept quiet, apart from the fluttering sound of her fan . The other three women would make small talk whilst following closely their game.
The men were sitting around the fireplace, drinking Albert's famous single malt whiskey. Alexander kept glancing in Lafayette's direction, hoping that his friend was starting to grow fonder towards his cousin . After what he heard on the dinner table, he was certain that Gilbert's interest was not only ignited by the impressive work of the Society . To help the blooming romance as he referred to it in his head, Alexander nudged John. Without drawing unwanted attention to themselves, the two devised a brilliant plan.
'Gentlemen,' Alexander turned to the other three, ' I feel as though we are not giving these wonderful women the attention they deserve .'
'I assure you, love,' Eliza called gently from the table, 'we are perfectly fine by ourselves. And the game has just gotten interesting.'
'I do hope so,' John joined, getting up from the sofa and approaching the ladies, 'I have heard of cousin Y/N's talent for card games .'
Y/N grinned at his comment, but kept her eyes on her cards, 'Cousin John, one might not find your compliment as amusing as it is . Some may even find it offensive.'
'I certainly did not intend to insult you, dear cousin. I only thought of pointing out your numerous talents. Do you not agree, Gilbert, mon ami?'
Lafayette ended his conversation with Albert and looked at his friend who seemed disturbingly smug, 'I 'ave to agree . One must always be congratulated on zeir accomplishments.'
'Indeed!' Alexander exclaimed. He approached the beautifully crafted forte piano in the centre of the library. 'Cousin Y/N, I remember you are also an admirable pianist.'
'I would not say so,' Y/N replied.
'Would you be so kind to play something for us?' John asked.
'I would hate to leave the ladies in the middle of the game.'
'Y/N,' Albert's fatherly voice cut through the warm air, 'please, play something for our dear guests.'
Even though she knew there was only one guest her father wanted her to impress, she still left her seat obediently and searched through the note sheets she owned . Alexander decided to spice his little plan, ' Maybe you could play something with Gilbert ?'
'Alexander, it is not necessary, mon ami.'
'What a wonderful idea,' Hercules had joined, sensing immediately his friend's plan. 'Lafayette, you are a wonderful pianist as well. I believe that if you and cousin Y/N combine your talents, you will create something divine.' John snorted at the hidden message behind Hercules' words who tried to stifle his smirk. After all he and Angelica had created about five charming divinities.
Gilbert stared at Y/N who only gave him a blushing smile and pulled the sheets for a duet. The pair sat on the piano bench, 'I am sorry if zis upsets you.' Lafayette apologised through a whisper.
'Not at all, dear monsieur. I only hope that you are as good as your companions say.'
Lafayette grinned, 'What are we playing?'
'Rondo in D Major. Schubert. I expect you are familiar.' They placed their hands above the keys. Gilbert glanced at lady Beauchamps and let a tiny smile tug on the corners of his lips. Her posture revealed the confidence that otherwise oozed from her eyes. 'Ready? One, two, three.'
Their fingers danced merrily on the keys, creating a perfect melody. The others gathered around the piano. Out of view, Alexander patted Hercules on the back and shook John's hand. When the piece ended, everybody applauded. Y/N smiled at Gilbert who bowed his head in respect.
'You are a splendid pianist, mademoiselle,' he whispered to her and Y/N felt an unfamiliar warmth rising under the skin of her cheeks. She was... blushing? Why in the Lord's name was this happening?
Y/N swiftly got up from the bench and went to Angelica, 'Cousins, I believe we have a game to continue.' But before they could take their seats around the small table, Mr Roberts walked in the library.
'Monsieur Beauchamps, your guest has arrived.'
'Ah, show him in, Roberts!' Albert replied, joyfully.
'A guest?' Y/N was puzzled, her father hadn't mentioned another guest arriving. Was it Abraham? Had he received her letter?
Through the large library door stepped the man Y/N least expected (or wanted) to be a guest of her family's. A long magenta coat and a bushy hair. It was Mr Jefferson. He shook hands with Albert and thanked him for the invitation, 'I need to apologise for my delay. The rain has grown stronger since the afternoon. I almost thought my carriage would be completely submerged.' I wish it did, Y/N thought. 'Ah, Mr Hamilton!'
'Secretary Hamilton,' Alexander corrected him through gritted teeth and Eliza had to stand beside him to try and hold him back in case he pounced on the blasted Virginian.
'I would be surprised that you are not in office, but then again your department has been lacking... progress as of late.'
'Perhaps, if certain people started paying for labour, my department would've made progress.' Y/N remarked how her cousin clenched his fists when he replied to Jefferson who only commented about something under his nose. It took Eliza a lot of physical strength to hold Alexander still. Thankfully, Hercules and John helped contain her husband's anger.
'Lafayette, what a pleasure it is to see you again!' The two men shook hands.
'I am surprised to see you 'ere, Thomas.' Gilbert said truthfully.
'Yes,' Monsieur Beauchamps began, 'I completely forgot to tell you. I had invited Thomas to the ball and we spoke of some interesting subjects. Finally, I told him of my plans to renovate the manor.'
'Renovate?' Y/N repeated, unbelieving of her father's sudden plans.
Mr Jefferson grinned at her, 'Your father needed my expertise as an architect.' Alexander snorted at that. 'I am to be your guest for the next two or three weeks,' his grin turned menacing as he bowed, 'lady Beauchamps.'
Good Lord up above, let this be a nightmare!

[The way back from the meeting, Inside of the carriage]
Haures: "My lord… Great work on your participation in the meeting."
Lucas: "It's true ♪ You look dignified in front of the nobles… that's impressive, my lord ♪"
> "I was mostly silent, though…"
Haures: "My lord was dignified even from my point of view. I'm not accustomed to dealings with nobles. I couldn't help but feel stifled."
Lucas: "Really? You seemed calm."
> "You seemed calm to me too"
Haures: "I'm glad to hear you say so, my lord, but.... To be honest, I was anxious not to appear rude."
Lucas: "Well, nobles tend to be quite proud, after all~"
Haures: "Y-yes, that's true…"
Lucas: "Regardless... It's quite hot. It might be rude of me to ask, but my lord… May I remove my robe here?"
> "Of course!" > "Isn't it hot?"
Lucas: "Thank you very much."
Rustle… rustle…
Lucas: "Phew~... That's refreshing ♪ Despite it being a rule when meeting with nobles… It's hot in these robes this time of year~"
Haures: "Y-yes, indeed...  I'll remove mine too, my lord."
Rustle… rustle…
Haures: "Ah… that's much better…"
> "You look good in summer clothes"
Haures: "Thank you very much. It's getting warmer these days... All the butlers have switched their attire."
Lucas: "I've had long hair for quite some time now, maybe I should go all out and make it as short as Haures? Do you think it would look good on me? My lord?"
> "If it's you, Lucas, I think it would suit you!" > "I guess I kinda wanna see it short too…?"
Lucas: "Fufu… ♪ When you say that, I'm really in a dilemma."
Haures: "........ Um... Mr. Lucas."
Lucas: "Hm? What's wrong?"
Haures: "At the end of the meeting, Mr. Lucas, you mentioned that the human race is in danger of extinction.... Do you truly believe so?"
Lucas: "As I mentioned... We don't know what strength an intelligent angel has. It's hard to say for sure, but well, I thought it would be better to daringly emphasize it there…"
Haures: "Daringly... emphasize it?"
Lucas: "Lord Finlay is a very intelligent man, he understands the gravity of the situation. The problem is the other nobles."
Haures: The other nobles are the problem...?"
Lucas: "They are living without ever lacking anything. Rather than solving the mystery of the angels, they don't want the world to change.  That's why I daringly use strong language, to compel them to see the problem as their own… And if I use such assertive wordings, I can save Lord Finlay the trouble of trying to convince the other nobles."
Haures: "I see.... You have thought that far. That's impressive, Mr. Lucas. I've learned something."
> "Way to go, Lucas!"
Lucas: "Oh no, no ♪  It feels nice to get a compliment, but... well... I'm sorry to say something that might make you uneasy, but I genuinely think that the human race may be in danger of extinction.
I believe it's just right to be cautious, perhaps not excessively so."
> "That's true"
